Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that challenges usual forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including free extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Revealed
According to the authorized release, "A mysterious meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of forbidden practices and monstrous changes echo through the shadows." The storyline presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine sect.
The mission centers on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a striking moment showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Bonus Content
Players who finish the mission will receive an special katana alongside multiple objects hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Update
This patch also brings the game's third free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature skills: Naoe debuts a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

The series previously showcased a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
