Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Warriors Table

Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a gripping narrative showcasing angels, fiends, and dark forces increasing in power within the city.

Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.

The Warrior Group Introduced

Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of characters who will separate from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.

The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

Why Split the Party?

With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.

At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

For one thing, the party knows exactly where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his own means, breaking into the secret base, attacking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.

The antagonist then cleared his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires vengeance.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
  • The warrior and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could assist the group enter places they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • The target is marked for death by House Halovar.

This leaves them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of Casimir.

What’s Next?

Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight players to form the Questers and Strategists parties.

Viewers can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
