The Journey of a Cult tends to be marked by clear stages.

1. The Grand Vision

An inspiring figure or figureheads introduce a revolutionary approach offering a panacea for alienated and vulnerable people.

Thus we find ourselves. Preparations are underway to confront the system in Australia. The gunships are circling. Signs of trouble appear from the out-houses. 2. Love-Bombing

Movement founders guarantee a new start, a brighter tomorrow, support, redemption together united in belief in the philosophy.

How did it feel back then? A team united feeling good. Tattoos. Forearms. Jawlines. Elite male wellness energy. Admittedly, The team often say it’s not a real term, ironically since it’s not recognized, what was that spectacle?

Yet it’s clear the concept. It’s the player executing a stroke so outrageous it has to be pixelated. It’s the excitement of the captain in his final form, a demeanor suggesting: thoughtful warrior, strong features, hair woven from beaver hide, truly contemporary you wouldn’t be surprised to look down and see him playing on the ground shirtless embracing nature.

It’s the batsman continuing to have permission to talk in press conferences, appearing as a joyful figure in a waistcoat, saying stuff like we’re challenging norms. And yes, the energy, for a significant period, was uplifting.

3. Expansion Period

Growth phase. Unity enforced via memorization of mantras. These ideas can appear contradictory to prove commitment.

Is it just me? The criticism, the fury, the feeling of letdown after the first Ashes Test defeat seems too strong, too much. The batting collapsed on the field, as history shows. This is the core issue. It’s all cults. The approach was a phenomenon as the game has its own culture. Or rather, the team has long been exclusive, a group, a private event, a restricted environment with centuries of opaque and ritualistic cult history supporting it. And guess what, the country is a phenomenon, a series of esoteric hierarchies, a royal family remains.

The team have been enclosed in this system for years. Seeking change, to create a less brutal environment, they are simply replicating their past, forming a new circle, an exclusive group, however with 15 cool guys and a mentor encouraging individuality as long as yourself is quite a lot like myself.

Live where your feet are. Run towards the danger. Despite efforts, you’re always basically in the same place.
